Help lines, and how we work
In Ontario, help with gambling is free and confidential at any hour, by phone, text or live chat. The second half of this page explains how Road Notes checks the facts it prints.

Where to turn
- ConnexOntario offers free, confidential help 24/7. Call 1-866-531-2600, text CONNEX to 247247, or use live chat at connexontario.ca.
- My PlayBreak, OLG's self-exclusion program, covers Ontario casinos, Charitable Gaming Centres and OLG.ca. To enrol for casinos, call the OLG Support Centre at 1-800-387-0098 or ask staff on site.
- BetGuard, at betguard.ca and run by iGaming Ontario, lets a person opt out of all regulated online gaming sites in Ontario, including OLG.ca. Terms are 6 months, 1 year, 5 years or a custom length, and land-based casinos are not covered.
- In a crisis, the Suicide Crisis Helpline answers at 988, 24/7.
Before the drive
A limit before the drive home
Decide on time and money before leaving home, and treat both as fixed. Settle who drives back, or book a room, before the first bet is placed. At the resort, Gateway applies OLG's PlaySmart responsible gambling program. People who are self-excluded or trespassed from any Ontario gaming property may not visit. In Ontario no one under 19 may enter or stay in a casino, and online play is 19+ as well.

About Road Notes
Orillia Road Notes is an independent travel guide, not a casino and not the resort's own site. It is written and signed collectively as Road Notes. No page carries a personal byline, and the site has no named author. The young woman in the guide's pictures is a generated character: not a real person, not staff and not an author.
Facts in the guide were checked on October 13, 2026, against the resort's own pages, Gateway Casinos, the AGCO, iGaming Ontario, ConnexOntario and OpenStreetMap. Distances are straight lines between map coordinates, rounded to whole kilometres. Roads are longer than these lines.
The guide has no forms, comments or accounts. It keeps nothing about readers except the colour theme chosen in the browser tab.
